Titanium Market Summary
Titanium Slag
The January bidding price for high-titanium slag from northern enterprises is 5,400 CNY/ton, flat compared with December. Due to high costs of raw and auxiliary materials, production pressure remains significant. Weak demand continues to keep titanium slag prices at low levels.
Titanium Tetrachloride
Titanium tetrachloride is quoted at 4,800–5,500 CNY/ton. Due to reduced supply and low inventories at some plants, prices have increased by 50–200 CNY/ton this month. Some transactions are negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Sponge Titanium
Civil-grade first-class sponge titanium is quoted around 45,000–47,000 CNY/ton, while zero-grade sponge titanium is quoted around 46,000–48,000 CNY/ton. Recently, the price of raw material magnesium ingot has continued to rise, increasing production costs. Mainstream sponge titanium quotations remain stable, but market sentiment is dominated by supply-demand negotiations, with many participants adopting a wait-and-see approach.
Titanium Dioxide
Today's titanium dioxide price index is 13,424.70, unchanged from yesterday. Titanium dioxide plants are operating at high rates, with a slight rebound in December output. Recently, new price offers face significant pressure in the market, though export orders provide some support. Combined with high raw material costs, titanium dioxide prices remain steady for now, with transaction prices mostly negotiated individually.
Industry Operating Rates
Titanium Ore
Water processing plants in the Xinjiu area of Panxi are still operating below capacity. In Yunnan, mine licensing issues are affecting supply, and low temperatures in Chengde are also limiting production. Overall, domestic titanium ore supply remains insufficient.
Titanium Dioxide
Previously idled plants have resumed production. Some companies plan maintenance shutdowns this month, but overall titanium dioxide operating rates remain high.
